Cyclone Nisarga is set to hit Mumbai on June 3, 2020, and in order to ensure safety, the Central Railways recent announced the revised schedule for some Mumbai bound trains. The announcement said that the trains have been rescheduled for a different time on the same day.

Schedules of total eight trains have been changed, out of which five are said to leave Mumbai and three would reach Mumbai, on June 3, 2020.

IMD officials have issued red alert in Mumbai and nearby areas and have warned stating that the cyclone would hit in the afternoon. Experts say that the city will experience heavy rainfall with strong winds, and keeping this warning in mind, the government has evacuated more than 60,000 residents from five districts. People residing near the coast have been advised to stay safe and remain inside the house.

Maharashtra Government on May 31 announced that the coronvirus lockdown would be eased in several cities across the state, where phase 1 restrictions would be lifted on June 3, 2020. However, due to the cyclone Nisarga, Uddhav Thackrey-led government has now imposed Sec 144 across Mumbai and nearby areas, further postponing scheduled relaxations by two days.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has also issued do's and don'ts during the cyclone. Since the intensity of the cyclone is said to be heavy, officials have restricted entry at promenades, beaches and several other parts as per Sec 144 guidelines.
