Keeping late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam’s birth anniversary in mind, the state government will be running a library in two prestigious trains on Central Line from October 15, 2018. On Friday, Tawde said that the initiative is being undertaken with the help of Railways and will be inaugurated in Deccan Queen Express (Pune-Mumbai-Pune), which departs from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSTM) at 5:10 pm, and Panchavati Express (Manmad-Mumbai-Manmad), which departs from CSTM at 6:15 pm.

Monthly pass holders of the reserved coaches in both the trains will be able to avail books for free, which will be provided by Rajya Marathi Bhasha Sanstha's Marathi department. CR officials further said that a Vaachandoot (reading emissary) onboard will help the passengers with the books, upon the collecting their Aadhar card number and mobile number.
