Shiv Sena member Arvind Sawant said in the Lok Sabha that Mumbai Central railway station should be renamed after Jagannath Shankar Sheth for his contribution to the city and the growth of railways in its pioneering years. Sheth is known for his contribution towards the Victoria Terminus station, now known as 'Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus'.

Along with King Circle’s and Mumbai Central, Railway administration has taken a strategic decision to change the names Sandhurst Road to Dongri, Charni Road to Girgaum, Curry Road to Lalbaug. Cotton Green station might undergo a name change as it has a colonial imprint.
