Keeping in mind the growing tourist rush during summer vacations for cool weather destination Mahabaleshwar, the ST has decided to release summer special extra ST buses for the return journey. These special extra buses will run on Mahabaleshwar – Mahad – Borivali / Mumbai Central and Mahabaleshwar – Pune – Borivali / Mumbai Central routes.
The Satara division of ST Corporation has decided to run extra bus ferries in summer to boost Mahabaleshwar tourism. So it will be convenient for passengers travelling back to Mumbai from Mahabaleshwar. Additional trains will run from Mahabaleshwar Depot to Borivali, Pune, Nashik, Panaji, Thane.
Female passengers travelling in summer special buses will get 50% discount in ticket price under 'Mahila Samman Yojana', and 100% discount in ticket price for all passengers above 75 years of age under 'Amrit Jyeshtha Nagar Yojana'.
