Mega Block on Western Railway and Central Railway on Nov 29

The Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) will carry out a mega block and jumbo block, respectively, to maintain the infrastructure and carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, on Sunday, November 29, 2020.

The Central Railway (CR) and Western Railway (WR) will carry out a mega block and jumbo block, respectively, to maintain the infrastructure and carry out maintenance work of tracks, signalling and overhead equipment, on Sunday, November 29, 2020.

A Jumbo Block of four hours will be taken on Up and Down slow lines between Vasai Road and Virar from 00.30 hours to 04.30 hours on the intervening night of November 29, 2020.

According to a press release by Western Railway, during the block, some of the slow line trains will run on Fast line between Vasai Road and Virar stations. Therefore, there will be no block in day time over Western Railway's Suburban Section on this Sunday, November 29, 2020.

Whereas, Central Railway will operate mega block to carry out maintenance work on Thane-Kalyan Up and Down fast lines from 10.40 am to 3.40 pm along with Kurla-Vashi Up and Down harbour lines from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm.

On November 29, all the Down fast services leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus from 9.37 am to 2.48 pm will be diverted on slow line between Thane and Kalyan stations and will halt at all stations between Thane and Kalyan.

While the Up fast services leaving Kalyan from 10.26 am to 3.19 pm will be diverted on slow line between Kalyan and Thane stations and will halt at all stations between Kalyan and Thane. It will be further rediverted on Up fast line at Mulund halting as per their respective scheduled halts.

Meanwhile, the Down services to Panvel/Belapur/Vashi leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus from 10.34 am to 3.39 pm will remain cancelled. The Up services to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus leaving Panvel/Belapur/Vashi from 10.21 am to 3.41 pm will remain cancelled. However, harbour line passengers are permitted to travel via Transharbour line / Main line from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm.

Moreover, the special trains will be run on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Kurla and Vashi-Panvel sections during the block period.

These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the Railway Administration for the inconvenience caused. Also, all the passengers are requested to take note of the above arrangements.
