ST to run special buses for women from Panvel, Dombivli, Virar to Mantralay

The number of female employees in essential services has increased over a period of time. Keeping this in mind, officials have decided to offer some relief to them. With an aim avoid the inconvenience during the journey, the Maharashtra State Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has decided to start special ST bus services for women, from Monday, September 21, 2020. 

As per reports, these buses will run only during rush hours.

Talking about the same, Transport Minister and President of ST Corporation, Anil Parab, on Friday, September 18, 2020, clarified that the decision has been taken for female employees working in the private and government sectors. These ST buses will be run from Panvel, Dombivli, and Virar to Mantralaya. 

Furthermore, an ST bus will leave from each location in the morning, and the return bus will leave from Mantralaya on the same route in the evening. Currently, these buses will be operated on an experimental basis, post-which their numbers may be gradually increased, clarified the officials from the ST Corporation.

Below mentioned is the timetable for these special ST bus services

• Panvel to Mantralaya: 8.15 AM
• Dombivali to Mantralaya: 8.15 AM
• Virar to Mantralaya: 7.45 AM
• Return journey - one bus from Mantralaya will start at 5:35 PM for Dombivali and Virar, and 5:45 PM for Panvel
