Mumbai suburban railway stations to be quipped with 30 new escalators

In a keen effort to smoothen the difficult commute of the commuters, the Central Railway has proposed the construction of 30 new escalators on Mumbai suburban railway stations. This information was supplied by the Central Railway’s Chief Public Relation Officer, Narendra Patil.

To facilitate the smooth construction of these escalators, the Western Coalfields Ltd has funded a sum of Rs. 30 crores to the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu and Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal. This was done on the behalf of CSR, for deploying 25 escalators on the Central railway stations and 5 escalators on the stations of the Western Railway.
