In the last two months, the Central Railway Administration has earned INR 45.29 crore by selling scrap on railway premises. Waste tracks, scrapped coaches, locomotives, engines, track materials, wheels, steel poles and other metal items from workshops, sheds, factories, railway premises have been sold.


Indian Railways has taken up the 'Zero Bhangar Mission'. Under this campaign, scrap is being sold on a large scale in five sections of Central Railway namely Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Bhusawal and Nagpur. Selling scrap from workshops and sheds in every department has been started. This campaign is clearing the area blocked by debris.

Iron, steel, aluminium, brass, copper and other metal scraps have been sold in the scrap sale. The Central Railway Administration informed that Railways has received a total of INR 45.29 crore from the sale of scrap, including INR 22.6 crore in April 2023 and INR 22.69 crore in May 2023.
