Mumbai: CR to run 20 special trains for ganesh festival

This year, on the occasion of Ganeshotsav, Central Railway has so far announced 202 Ganpati special trains. Now 20 more Ganpati special trains will be operational for the ganesh festival. Therefore, a total of 222 Ganpati special trains will be available for passengers. Reservation of special 20 trains will start from August 7.


Eight bi-weekly special trains will run from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Ratnagiri. Train No. 01031 will depart from LTT on 6th September, 7th September, 13th September and 14th September at 8 PM and will reach Ratnagiri at 4.50 AM on the next day. Train No. 01031 Special will leave Ratnagiri on 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th September at 8.40 am and will reach LTT at 5.15 pm on the same day.

Four rounds of the Panvel-Ratnagiri weekly special train will be made available for passengers. Train No. 01443 will leave Panvel on September 8, 15 at 4.40 am and will reach Ratnagiri at 11.50 am on the same day. Train No. 01444 will leave Ratnagiri on September 7, 14 at 5.50 pm and will reach Panvel next day at 1.30 pm.


Two rounds of the Panvel-Ratnagiri weekly special train will run. Train No. 01441 will leave Panvel on September 11 at 4.40 am and will reach Ratnagiri at 11.50 am on the same day. Also six rounds of the Pune-Ratnagiri weekly special train will be made available for passengers. Ticket reservation for all these Ganpati special trains will start on August 7 at all computerised reservation centres and on the IRCTC website at a special rate, Central Railway said.
