The Mumbai Metro 2A Line and Metro 7 Line that connects Dahisar to DN Nagar and Dahisar to Andheri East, respectively are anticipated to attain their safety clearance certificates by the end of March, reports mentioned.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) reportedly stated that this paves the way for both the corridors to become functional by mid-April. For any metro corridor, the safety certificate is given after inspections are undertaken by the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS).

Similarly, Jay Sheth Metro Rail professional said, "Mumbai Metro Line 2A and Line 7 are anticipated to get their safety clearance certificate by month end as per news reports. The Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) observations from earlier inspections need to be addressed on priority before safety clearance can be issued. However, I believe that political mileage for the opening of the metro rail on the occasion of impending BMC elections should not be encouraged."

Sheth added, "I believe that it will take 30-45 days, but they can also open it in 20-25 days. In that case, it would skip certain stations. On the other hand, if they open only 4-7 km of the metro rail, then that is just a political stunt. A minimum of 10 km of the line should be opened for the public. This should then be assessed to see if there has been a reduction in vehicular congestion. I hope that when Line 2A and Line 7 open, Mumbaikars make a switch from cars to metro rail."

MMRDA officials have been quoted in accounts elaborating on how the trail runs for both the corridors is completed. Adding that the safety inspection by the CRS is also nearing completion.

The first phase for Metro 2A is between Dahisar and Dahanukarwadi. Similarly, the Metro 7 corridor, will be between Dahisar and Aarey Colony. On the one hand, the Metro 2A corridor will stretch from Dahisar East to DN Nagar in Andheri through the Linking Road. While the Metro 7 corridor will run parallel to the Metro 2A corridor on the Western Express Highway between Dahisar East to Andheri East.
