Mumbai-Pune Train Services To Resume Today

Sinhagad Express and Deccan Queen will run from Mumbai, while three others — Sinhagad Express, Intercity Express and Indrayani Express — will run from Pune.

The service of trains between Mumbai-Pune route had shut down since August 3 due to multiple landslides in the Bhor Ghat stretch. Commuters had to face problems as it takes 3 hours by train and 5 hours via road.

However, Central Railway's decision to resume services came as a sigh of relief after they announced that five trains on the Mumbai-Pune route will be functional from today i.e Friday as Sinhagad Express and Deccan Queen will run from Mumbai, while three others — Sinhagad Express, Intercity Express and Indrayani Express — will run from Pune. Services will be stalled again on August 17 and 18 and will continue from August 19. 

Notably, among the train services that were cancelled are the Deccan Queen, Pragati Express, Intercity Express, Sinhagad Express, Mahalaxmi Express, Koyna Express, Okha-Tamil Nadu Express, Bikaner-Yeshwantpur Express, and Nanded-Panvel Express. Alongside, numerous other train services on the route have been cancelled, short terminated and diverted by the Central Railways.
