Ganeshotsav 2021: CR to run special air-conditioned trains between Mumbai and Kudal

Ganeshotsav is just a few days away and just like every year thousands of passengers are seen crowding at the railway station to go to their village. Thousands travel from Mumbai and its suburbs to the Konkan areas during ten days of festival.

Central Railway has decided to run a special air-conditioned train between Mumbai and Kudal in view to cater extra crowds or rush ahead of the Ganpati festival. 

The special trains will operate from September 7 to 10.

Train No. 01269 will leave Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 04.35 am daily from September 7 to 10 and reach Kudal at 14.30 hrs on the same day.

Meanwhile, train No. 01270 will depart from Kudal at 15.30 pm and reach Lokmanya Tilak Terminus at 3 am the next day. 

The train will halt at Thane, Panvel, Roha, Mangaon, Veer, Khed, Chiplun, Savarda, Aravali Road, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Advali, Vilvade, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Nandgaon Road, Kankavali and Sindhudurg stations.

Reservation bookings for fully reserved special train no. 01269 / 01270 on special charges will open from September 4 at all computerised reservation centres and on the official website of IRCTC.

Moreover, amid the fear of the third wave of coronavirus, the Maharashtra government and local authorities have decided to conduct mandatory RT-PCR tests for all passengers. The administration has clarified that admission in Konkan will be possible only if there is an RT-PCR report 72 hours before the journey or the passenger should be fully vaccinated.

In addition, the Indian Railways will be running eight special air-conditioned trains for Mumbaikars travelling to the Konkan region for the Ganesh festival. This train service will be between Mumbai and Kudal in the Sindhudurg district.
