The number of passengers between Virar and Dahanu is continuously increasing. Due to the increasing number of passengers, passengers are demanding to increase local services from Virar to Dahanu and from Dahanu to Virar.
Local train connectivity is very limited with respect to Dahanu Road and the situation becomes worse during peak hours. Recently, Western Railway has introduced 15 additional new services on the Virar-Churchgate route. But not a single such train ran between Virar-Dahanu road.

A large working class from Dahanu, Palghar, Boisar is moving towards Mumbai for work. They are facing problems due to lack of local services. In this regard, BJP has also written a letter to the railway administration requesting to increase the local service. However, railway officials say that there are only two tracks between Virar and Dahanu due to which it is difficult to increase the number of trains.
