Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray along with BMC Chief Praveen Pardeshi unveiled Mumbai's first AC Mini Bus at Colaba Bus Depot on Monday, September 16 at 5 pm. The 21-seat bus is all set to ply on Mumbai's roads and cater to the needs of the commuter with comfort. 

On the inauguration, Uddhav Thackeray stated that the bus is acquired on a wet-lease but further assured that no one will lose the job with regards to it. Notably, the BEST union had opposed the decision of leasing buses as they feared that people will lose jobs due to it.

On the account of the occasion, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) chief Praveen Pardeshi further stated that 3,000 more BEST buses will be introduced in the streets of Mumbai under lease and these AC Minibuses is all set to give an experience of a Mercedes at the mere cost of ₹5. 

Notably, in order to overcome the financial crisis faced by the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST), the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had allotted funds of ₹1,700 crore to the bus company. However, on September 9, Monday, the civic body introduced another proposal to provide BEST additional funding of ₹400 crore which was passed immediately.
