As Diwali celebrations are around the corner, people are busy shopping and planning for the festival of lights. However, this year’s Diwali is not going to be the same for State Transport buses staff members as Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has cancelled the leaves of employees and officials considering the traffic during Diwali.

According to the circular issued by MSRTC, no leaves will be granted for ST bus staff from October 29 till the festival ends. MSRTC believes that during Diwali, more number of passengers travel by ST buses.
Last year in Diwali, ST workers had staged a protest because of which, passengers had suffered across Maharashtra.
