The State Transport (ST) employees, over the last few weeks, are on strike demanding the merger of ST Corporation with the state government. For several days now, these workers have been protesting, however, their demands have not been met yet. Considering the same, the officials decided to escalate the matters and hence the ST employees  rushed to Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari for help.

A statement of demands, including a merger, has been sent to the governor asking him to hear the grievances of the employees. A meeting with the governor has also been requested for these issues.

ST workers went on strike from October 28, 2021, demanding the merger, and as the employees were not returning to work, authorities from the ST Corporation took necessary actions which included suspension, dismissal and termination of service for several employees. Reports state that as the staff was not attending to the service, the ST  was not running smoothly, and considering these issues, the corporation decided to recruit retired staff along with other private drivers.

Responsibility was assigned to the mechanical staff, vehicle examiners, drivers and carriers.

Despite these concerns, the matter has not resolved. Seeking the governor's help, officials on the strike, have sent the necessary statement of demands. It is being said that Satish Metkari, a member of the Maharashtra State of ST FDA Merger, has made three major demands to the Governor, including a meeting with him.

Employees have mentioned that the governor should listen to the grievances of the employees and should declare them as the employees of the state government. Furthermore, actions like suspension should be withdrawn. Employees have also demanded three months salary to be given by the department and the necessary claims has been made in the letter.
