Thane Commissioner Abhijit Bangar has announced free travel for citizens above 60 years of age in the Thane Municipal Corporation's budget for the year 2024-25, and 50 percent discount on tickets for women and reservation of seats on the left side of buses for women. This scheme will be launched from Wednesday March 13, 2024 at 10:00 am. It will be held by MP Shrikant Shinde at SATIS bridge, Thane Railway Station.
Shiv Sena Thane district chief, former mayor Naresh Mhaske, Meenakshi Shinde, transport chairman Vilas Joshi, transport manager Bhalchandra Behere and transport committee members and former corporators will be present at this event.

Thane Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar has appealed to the citizens to take advantage of the provision of 100 percent free travel for senior citizens, 50 percent discount on tickets and seats for women in the transport service.
