The BEST plans to launch services on feeder routes from this week onwards. A feeder line is a peripheral route that connects remote nodes with a route carrying heavier traffic. The BEST plans to launch services on feeder routes along the highways and arterial roads to provide connectivity to essential service workers or the people to go to offices.

The BEST also plans to increase its fleet size by 10 per cent. That would allow the buses to ferry 60,000 more office goers regularly. The BEST buses had earlier started operations from multiple routes like Virar, Nalasopara, Kalyan, Badlapur and Panvel. There are offices of many big, medium and small size companies in the city of Mumbai. In such places, a lot of people living outside Mumbai also come for work.

In order for the people to be able to traverse effectively, Best had decided to run buses outside Mumbai. The Public Relations Officer of Best, Manoj Varade had announced this information earlier. After the Maharashtra government had amended its lockdown relaxations under 'Mission Begin Again' the amendments tightened the relaxations allowed for physical outdoor activities and exercises, the opening of shops, private offices re-opening, newspaper sales, educational institutions staff attendance, inter/intrastate movement, which gave a push to the BEST to start operations outside Mumbai in order to help people to commute.

However, in order to fulfil the need of transportation for the common man, the employees of BEST have been serving the people at the risk of their lives so that the employees travelling do not suffer from any inconveniences. Before the lockdown, BEST was serving 31 to 32 lakh passengers regularly. However, at the moment, due to lack of manpower, 4 to 5 lakh passengers are being served. On June 8, BEST carried 4.19 lakh passengers, while the next day it added 54,000 passengers. Best is also known to distribute vitamin tablets and conduct fever checks to ensure the safety of its employees and passengers.
