According to the "Mission Begin Again" initiated by the Government of Maharashtra, many workplaces are to start with 10 per cent employees from Monday. In view of this, the Best Administration has approved transportation for office goers from Monday as well. Shop goers can also travel on the buses of Best. As the Mumbai local train remains closed, BEST has decided to run some buses outside Mumbai as well.
From Monday, BEST buses will run multiple buses from Virar, Nalasopara, Kalyan, Badlapur and Panvel. There are offices of many big, medium and small size companies in Mumbai. In such places, a lot of people living outside Mumbai also come for work. Therefore, so that people do not face any difficulty in reaching office, Best has decided to run buses outside Mumbai. The Public Relations Officer of Best, Manoj Varade announced this information on Sunday.
The Maharashtra government had earlier amended its lockdown relaxations under 'Mission Begin Again'. The amended order tightens the relaxations allowed for physical outdoor activities and exercises, the opening of shops, private offices re-opening, newspaper sales, educational institutions staff attendance, inter/intrastate movement.
Earlier Mumbai had narrowly escaped any major damage due to Cyclone Nisarga which made landfall at Alibaug and crossed through Thane, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Ahmednagar, Pune, Kolhapur, Satara to head towards Nashik where it weakened into a storm. Two people have died in Pune, while 3 people were injured. The BMC has warned citizens of monsoon related diseases and has advised monitoring symptoms for 7-10 days. Maharashtra has so far been battling with the coronavirus with the most number of cases in the country. So far, the state has had 82,968 cases of coronavirus. Mumbai has 47,354 cases of coronavirus. After battling the cyclone and dealing with the pandemic, it is of crucial importance to note how it functions after the reopening of the economy.
