The Western Railways has decided to run 118 more trips of Bandra Terminus (BDTS)-Shri Ganganagar train in order to curb overcrowding.

According to reports, the Western Railways (WR) has decided to run 118 more trips of Bandra Terminus (BDTS)-Shri Ganganagar train in order to cater to the extra passenger rush.

Moreover, a spokesperson of the WR speaking about the same stated, "Train No 09707 will leave from the Bandra Terminus at 8.55 pm and will reach Shri Ganganagar at 7.30 am on the third day,” further adding, “The train will run from February 3 till April 2, 2021.” Similarly, Train No 09708 will leave from Shri Ganganagar at 9.40 pm and will arrive at Bandra Terminus at 6.35 am on the third day. This train will run from February 1 till March 31, 2021.

In addition, the train will halt at Andheri, Borivali, Dahanu Road, Vapi, Navsari, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Sabarmati Bg, Kalol, Mahesana Junction, Unjha, Siddhapur, Chhapi, Palanpur, Abu Road, Swarupganj, Pindwara, Nana, Jawai Bandh, Falna, Rani, Somesar, Marwar Junction, Sojat Road, Beawar, Ajmer, Kishangarh, Naraina, Phulera Junction, Asalpur Jobner, Jaipur, Govindgarh Malikpur, Ringas Junction, Sikar Junction, Lachhmangarh Sikar, Fatehpur Shekhawati, Churu, Sadulpur Junction, Tahsil Bhadra, Nohar, Ellenabad, Hanumangarh Town, Hanumangarh Junction and Sadulshahar stations in both directions.

The Mumbai locals which are used by millions, as of now, only has certain categories of commuters travelling on the suburban railway system, including those providing essential services, and women who can travel by the local trains in the Mumbai region after obtaining a special pass due to the outbreak of the coronavirus. The local trains, with the COVID-19 pandemic protocols, were opened gradually for essential services employees and later more categories of travellers were added, but full-scale operations still remain suspended. On January 29, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced that from February 1, local trains will allow the general public to board but during non-peak hours.
