The teaser of the much awaited multi starrer magnum opus movie Kalank released today. The movie that is helmed by director Abhishek Varman emits only Grandeur. At the teaser launch event director-producer Karan Johar spoke about his dream project and thanked co-producer Sajid Nadiadwala.

"Kalank is a movie that is close to my heart, as it was my father’s dream. It was difficult without him to touch this film however one day I just decided to do it. The film which was on my mind since 2003 has finally been nurtured and beautifully crafted by Abhishek Varman. Kalank is beyond box office numbers for me. Also, I must say that it wouldn’t have been possible without Sajid Nadiadwala and Vijay Singh. Sajid has made it come to life with me and it's been a pleasure, I'm looking at working on more films with him in future”, Karan shared.

The two-minute-long teaser begins by showing glimpses of all the stars Sanjay Dutt as Balraj Chaudhry, Aditya Roy Kapur as Dev Chaudhry, Varun Dhawan as Zafar, Alia Bhatt as Roop, Sonakshi Sinha as Satya Chaudhry and Madhuri Dixit as Bahaar Begum. The movie is set as a period drama

Talking about Kalank the cast mentioned that it was an incredible experience of working with Karan Johar and Dharma Productions. “It's a surreal feeling of working with such great actors. Abhishek has put in a lot of efforts for this film. It is indeed an ensemble movie”, said Alia.

Adding further Varun said, “This film is very special to me. I had always dreamt that Sajid would produce a film for me and this is the third film and of course Karan I know that he always has my back".

Initially, late actress Sridevi was approached to play the role of Bahaar Begum, However, after her demise, Madhuri Dixit stepped into her shoes averred, “ It was an unfortunate incident, with a very heavy heart we had to move on with the film. Obviously to step into the role was different. We really missed her on set.”
