2017’s critically acclaimed film Newton is now in a fix, as a criminal complaint and a civil defamation have been filed against the producers of Newton in a Delhi court for allegedly showing the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) inaccurately.

As per reports in media, the complaint has been filed before the Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. The complaint states that that the producer Manish Mundra and Shiladitya Bora, the CEO of Drishyam Films should issue a public apology and recompense.The hearing of the same will take place in Delhi court on March 1.

 CRPF sub-Inspector Tamal Sanyal has alleged that false accusations were made by the makers of the film with an intent to harm the image of the central paramilitary force of the country.The complainant has also mentioned the chairman of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) as an accused in the case. 

Staring Rajkummar Rao Newton was India's official entry to the 2018 Oscars in the Best Foreign Film category.
