54-Year-Old Woman Died After Colliding With Mumbai-Bound Vande Bharat Express Train

A fatal incident came to light on Tuesday evening, November 8, as a 54-year-old woman died after being run over by the Mumbai-bound semi high-speed Vande Bharat Express train near Anand railway station in Gujarat.

According to reports, the victim was crossing the track when the accident took place at 4.37 pm. The deceased has been identified as Beatrice Archibald Peter.

Beatrice Archibald Peter, who is a resident of Ahmedabad, was apparently visiting a relative in Anand.

The train was on its way to Mumbai Central from Gandhinagar Capital station. It does not have a halt at Anand. Officials stated that a further probe is underway.

It is pertinent to note that this is the second such tragic incident occurred on this route ever since the Vande Bharat train has started operating.

Last month, in October, an incident of cattle dying on the track after being hit by the train was reported.

For those unversed, the train was flagged off by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the inaugural run on September 30.
