According to the ward committee, road works are going on at various places in Thane municipal area using UTWT, cement concreting, and mastic method. Currently, 60 to 70 percent of the ongoing works have been completed to provide good quality and pothole-free roads to the citizens. He has given instructions to the Executive Engineers that the road works should be done with quality while directing to work on war footing so that the rest of the works will be completed before monsoon.
The Thane Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar recently held a meeting to review the ongoing road work within the Thane municipal limits.
All Executive Engineers should monitor this work to ensure that the road works are done in a quality manner. The main roads in the city should be planned in such a way that these works are completed promptly, all the executive engineers should periodically check the quality of the ongoing works and give instructions to the relevant contractors to ensure that quality roads are prepared. While doing road works, culvert, joint filling, lane marking, zebra crossing should also be completed one way. The bills of the contractors have been paid, so the excuse that the bills have not been paid will not work and also a warning that if the works of the newly constructed roads are damaged, it will not be tolerated, said Commissioner Bangar.

A fund of INR 605 crores has been made available by the state government for Thane city. Under this, currently 282 road works are going on according to the ward committee. Apart from that, the commissioner reviewed the ongoing road works under municipal funds, road works under government schemes, road works under other authorities in the meeting. 127 road works are underway for which INR 214 crores are being spent on it and for 155 road works INR 391 crores are being spent.

Picking up road debris, placing boards
Debris lying on the road while carrying out road works should be picked up immediately. Place the signboards in a manner visible to the public where the road works are going on so that it shows a good effect. He gave instructions to continue the work in all three shifts to complete the road works before monsoon.
Coordinate with various authorities and complete tasks
The works of various authorities are going on in the city. On Ghodbunder road and also where the metro works are going on, a way should be made for the completion of the works after discussion with the authorities. He also mentioned that potholes on the road will not be tolerated at all.
Take note of citizens' complaints.
Aware citizens of Thane city are complaining about roads on social media e.g. They are presenting on Facebook, Twitter. If citizens complain about road works, take immediate notice of it and take remedial measures. Also, the Commissioner mentioned that if there is an obstacle in the completion of the works or if the local citizens are interfering, the public representative of the concerned department should be contacted and the work should be done or the work should be done under police arrangements.

Complete tasks at Thane entrance speedily
The ongoing works at the Thane entrance should be done in a quality manner so that the changes made there are visible to the citizens. Commissioner also instructed to complete the ongoing works at Kalwa Naka, lamp post in Anandnagar, sculpture works in chowks, works of parks in various places.
