According to a latest data revealed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday, November 10, stated that nearly 99 per cent of Mumbai's eligible population has taken their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines.
Meanwhile, more than 63 per cent have taken both doses. The data is calculated as per 2011 Census which shows an estimated eligible population of 9,236,500.
Of the total eligible population, 92,08,990 citizens have taken the first dose. Whereas, a total of 58,79,280 citizens have taken the second dose of the vaccine.
However, this includes vaccine doses administered at all private, municipal, state and central government-operated vaccination centres since January 16 this year, when the vaccination drive began across the country.
Besides, it has come to light that the BMC has decided to set up vaccine camps at ward level as there are more than three lakh beneficiaries whose second dose is due.
Moreover, civic officials said they need to speed up the pace of the vaccination drive with such camps. Additional municipal commissioner.

The BMC also assured that they have nearly 4.5 lakh doses in stock which can be used for administering the second dose.
This data comes a day after the civic body declared that 1.5 crore jabs have been given in Mumbai so far. So far, from 500 vaccination centres have been set across Mumbai.

On Tuesday, November 9, Maharashtra crossed the threshold of administering 100 million coronavirus vaccine doses, highlighted reports.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, while expressing his concerns over the dropped pace of COVID-19 vaccination, has set a target of completing 100% inoculation for first dose by November 30.
