The Mumbai Coastal Road projecthas started inviting tenders and is expected to start within the next one year.

The 29.2 km project is worth ₹15,000 crore and a provision of ₹1500 crore has been made. The sole purpose of this project is for environmental benefits. Therefore, free space will be available with 54 hectares of green belt. Not only this, carbon dioxide emissions can also be reduced.

Roads in Gaothan will also be developed while developing roads in Mumbai city. Roads in the villages will be made of cement concrete. For the first time, development of roads in Gaothan is being done through concretisation, for which a provision of ₹1 crore has been made.

To make the most of pedestrian bridges, it was decided that the Kurla bridge would move on an experimental basis. Apart from this, the pedestrian bridge and skywalk will be installed in the place where it will be possible.

Road work has doubled in comparison to last year. This year, the provision of ₹20158 crore has been made for road development work.
