After banning plastic and thermocol, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started a helpline number to help the people in managing plastic. Through these numbers, you can attain the information of proper management as well as disposal of plastic. The implementation of this plan is already being acted upon and the number, 1800222357 (toll-free) will help you with the basic system of getting rid of plastic.
After banning plastic and thermocol, BMC has taken various measures to deal with plastic and thermocol waste. A notification has been issued by the state’s Environment Department, in which the deadline to clear the waste has been set.

Besides this, 24 vehicles have been allotted to 24 departments to collect the plastic items. The toll-free number has been linked to all these departments.
A proposal to place plastic crushing machines at more than 100 public places in Mumbai has been put forward. Two companies have shown eagerness to move ahead with the work with their CSR funds.
