In a unique move to promote Mumbai as a hub for film and OTT shoots, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has shortlisted various civic-owned properties as official filming locations. Backed by municipal commissioner Bhushan Gagrani, the initiative aims to simplify filming approvals and enhance Mumbai’s appeal as a go-to location for filmmakers and digital content creators.

"The BMC  is committed to providing world-class facilities to the entertainment industry in Mumbai, which is a key pillar of the economy. To facilitate seamless filming across various locations in the city with pre-approved permissions, BMC is undertaking special initiatives. Several filming locations have already been identified and more will be added in the near future", stated BMC Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani.

A special symposium on the theme ‘Stakeholder Consultation – Mumbai’s Film Industry’ was organised by BMC’s Business Development Department and Mumbai–UNESCO Creative City of Films.
