While hearing a petition, Bombay High Court on Monday ordered that flat owners in a building or a society are entitled to one parking spot.
Bombay HC also said that in case the owner requires another parking spot, the same can be allotted if there is a vacant spot or another member of the society doesn’t require the same.
Justice Ramesh Dhanuka said that such vacant parking spots can be assigned to flat owners on a “year-to-year basis” and the society can charge extra for the additional parking space. This decision was taken while hearing the petition filed by a housing society in Bandra.

Earlier, a person who purchased a flat in a housing society in Bandra filed a petition in cooperative court as the person wasn’t provided with a parking spot. The court’s verdict came in favour of the owner.
Challenging the decision, the housing society moved to Bombay HC. However, the HC also ordered on the same line.
