On Wednesday, January 26, Maharashtra tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray remarked that state chief minister Uddhav Thackeray will review the COVID-19 situation next week and make a decision about reopening tourist places and monuments in the state, reports mentioned.

According to accounts, Aaditya Thackeray was talking to reporters after conducting a meeting of tourist department officials. Thackeray was quoted by reports elaborating on how coronavirus infections numbers in Aurangabad haven’t reduced much.

He added that the chief minister will review the condition next week and undertake a decision about opening the monuments and tourists places.

It is interesting to note that Aurangabad hosts Ajanta and Ellora caves amongst other monuments. Aaditya Thackeray who also holds the environment portfolio remarked that Maharashtra is looking to attain its electricity needs target of 25 per cent through renewable sources.

He was quoted by narratives elucidating on how they are looking at a 250 MW solar energy project along the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi expressway.

On the other hand, he mentioned that the tendering process for restarting the Deccan Odyssey tourism train is underway and the fares will be kept economical. Apart from this, he inaugurated the first phase of the Kham river revival project.
