Maharashtra records 3,131 new COVID-19 cases

According to reports, the cumulative number of tests conducted in the state climbed to 5,73,07,825 after 1,43,424 swab samples were examined in the last 24 hours for detection of the infection, the official said.

On Tuesday, September 21, 4,021 people suffering from the coronavirus recovered whereas 3,131 new COVID-19 cases were recorded.

Moreover, a total of 63,44,744 infected patients have recovered and returned home in the state to date. As a result, the recovery rate in the state is currently 97.2 per cent. Meanwhile, the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent. In addition, the state has 2,72,098 people in-home quarantine and another 1,704 in institutional quarantine, according to officials.

Continuing on a similar trend of the past few days, there are zero active containment zones in Mumbai. There are, however, 45 active sealed buildings in Mumbai. The high-risk contact tracing undertaken in the last 24 hours stands at 2,797.

In recent developments, the BMC will procure 5,000 vials of the cocktail drug, if cases increase. Suresh Kakani the Additional Municipal Commissioner (Health) elaborated that since the number of patients is low they aren’t ordering the doses now, but if the numbers surge, they will be procured in a phased manner, mentioned accounts.
