The G-South division office complex which is a part of Prabhadevi in Worli had initially reported a high number of COVID-19 cases, however, over the last few days, the situation has come under control.
As the number of patients in the southern region has come down, the doubling rate has reached 154 days. Worli, which is part of Prabhadevi, was consistently number one in the total number of patients testing positive for the coronavirus. However, due to the hard work of the officers and employees of the municipality, the number of patients in this department has gradually witnessed a decline. Moreover, the growth rate in the region has fallen below half a per cent since October.
In the densely populated areas of Mumbai, when there was no definite method of how to stop the spread of the infection, all the government agencies were struggling. In view of the situation, the Divisional Officer of the Municipal Corporation conducted thorough contact tracing, searching for COVID-19 positive patients, searching for people close to them, isolating them in order to prevent the spread of infection all the while supplying them with essential items. At present, preventive measures like maximum testing, detection of close contact with patients, disinfection of public toilets etc. are being continued.
