On Friday, February 4, Maharashtra Public Health Minister Rajesh Tope stated that the coronavirus pandemic will be over by the second week of March. He added during his conversation with media persons that thus, the COVID-19 restrictions will be eased every week, stated reports.
Earlier this week, the Maharashtra government had eased certain restrictions in the state, taking into account the fall in the number of cases reported. The restrictions have been eased in districts wherein 90 per cent of single-dose and 70 per cent of the double dose of vaccination for 18 years or above have been administered.
The guidelines brought into force by the authorities include:
- National parks, safaris and all tourist spots to remain open as per regular timings with online ticketing. But visitors must be fully vaccinated.
- Spas can remain operational with 50 per cent capacity.
- All restrictions are removed on the number of persons allowed at funerals.
- Marriages are now allowed to have guests up to 25 per cent of the capacity of the open ground and banquet halls or 200 guests, whichever is lower.
- Beaches, gardens and parks will now be allowed to remain open in Mumbai and 10 other districts including Pune amongst others.
- Amusement parks, theme parks, swimming pools and water parks will be allowed to remain open in these districts with 50 per cent capacity.
- Theatre and restaurants have also been allowed to remain open as per timings decided by local district authorities with 50 per cent capacity.
