Mumbai – The road connecting N. S. Phadke road in Andheri East and Kurla will be opened for transportation on Saturday. This road is 1.5 km long and 18.30 meter wide which was blocked by a society for its development. This road was blocked from last 47 years due to illegal control over it by the society. Now, this road is being opened by breaking the security wall.

The road in question is in Manjrekarwadi and it was blocked due to the illegal constructions by Sindia society. This place was put in private use and was not available for common public for use.

The road freeing drive was taken up under the guidance of Vasant Prabhu, assistant commissioner of zone-3. This block removal will provide people an option for easy commuting as well as it will decrease the pressure on Western Expressway. The road is being taken over by the concerned authorities and tarring of this road is in full swing. It would be opened for public from Saturday, informed Devendra Jain, assistant municipal commissioner of K-East ward.

He also informed that action would be initiated against the society for blocking the road for such long period of time.
