A massive fire broke out at Palghar-based Bharat Chemicals factory on Saturday, July 3, 2021, and as per reports, six workers were injured in the explosion. Officials confirmed that the incident was reported in the evening and rescue teams rushed to the spot to douse the fire. They were taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the explosion was caused by a spark, however, the exact cause is yet to be investigated. The plant is located in Boisar's Tarapur Industrial area. Sharing more information, an official from the Boisar Police informed that workers received burn injuries due to the explosion and the cause of the same is not yet known.

A member from the Boisar fire brigade informed the Times of India that five members were admitted at the hospital for the treatment and one was released after being given first aid. Furthermore, the ceiling of the building collapsed which led to the injury. A total of 36 workers were present at the location during the explosion, and many rushed out of the premises.
The factory is said to be 36 years old and manufactured paracetamol and a few other chemicals.
Meanwhile, another blast was reported in June 2021, where more than 10 workers were injured in the fire that broke out at a Palghar-based firecracker factory. Officials confirmed that over 100 workers were present while the incident occurred and rescue teams took three hours to douse the fire. Meanwhile, a few workers escaped from the factory immediately and some who sustained injuries were treated at Dahanu's Cottage Hospital.
