Five people were killed in the Ghatkopar chartered-plane crash yesterday, including the two pilots, two aircraft maintenance engineers on board and a pedestrian. The bystander, Govind Dubey, succumbed to fatal burns when some burning fuel from the aircraft fell on him. 

After the post-mortem was completed, his body was being handed over to his family for last rites. However, his brother refused to collect the body.

According to the victim’s younger brother, Gopal Dubey, no one from the government or the company came to meet them following the incident. He told that they belong to a financially weak background and will not accept the body unless they receive help.

The deceased, Govind Dubey hailed from Jaunpur district in Uttar Pradesh and had been married only for a month. On Thursday afternoon, he was on his way to work. The accident took place as soon as he reached near Jeevdaya lake in Jagruti Nagar.
