A massive fire broke out in a godown on Wednesday morning around 7:19 am at Goregaon. Eight fire engines and six water tankers rushed to the spot, while two godowns charred in the fire, there were no casualties reported. 15 people were rescued who were stuck in a godown.

There is a godown of clothes in Italian Industrial Estate which lies in the vicinity of Goregaon’s Oberoi Mall. When the fire broke out in the godown, residents informed the fire brigade who with the help of eight fire engines doused the fire. 

In the very first week of January, Mumbai witnessed seven fire incidents where five people lost their lives. Towards the end of 2017, the Kamala Mills fire incident was a shattering one because it took lives of people who were planning to welcome 2018. 

Another tragic case came to light when four of the same family sustained 100 per cent burns in their residence at Andheri’s Marol area.
