For the past three days, the Meteorological (MET) Department had expressed concerns regarding heavy rains in many areas of Maharashtra including Mumbai. The city, for the last few days, had faced fierce heat, which was also quite disheartening and many people hated the same.

Till mid-day on Tuesday, black clouds started covering the city, making the day gloomy. But little did we know it poured, and surprisingly it has been raining heavily ever since. The Meteorological Department has estimated it to be six hours long and has also advised everyone not to come out of the house without any work in view of the rain.

Many parts of the city such as Worli, Dadar, Bandra, Santacruz, Jogeshwari, Thane and Kalyan has received heavy rainfall. The Meteorological Department.

Talking about the rail commute, rain affected the Harbor Railway service. Trains running from CST to Andheri on the harbor line faced some technical disturbances between Santacruz and Vile Parle. Trains on Central Railway line were also delayed by 10 to 15 minutes.
