As 2018 drifts towards its end, the city will be seen engulfed in celebrations for the New Year. As a part of the celebrations, the people arrange various parties throughout the city and in order to avoid any untoward event, Mumbai Police keeps a track on the people.

Similarly, Mumbai Police has made tight security arrangements this year throughout Mumbai and accordingly, the police will be monitoring the chowks, beaches, hotels, as well as religious places.

However, prior to the New Year, the police will be monitoring the streets on December 30 and 31. Famous spots such as Gateway of India, Marine Drive, Worli Seaface, Bandstand, Juhu beach will be under the radar and police will deploy special security officials. In order to maintain peace at these places, the police department has decided to deploy drones as well.

Vehicle inspection will be conducted by Mumbai Police through blockades at more than 70 locations in the city. They will track down the culprits who will be drinking and driving and take strict action against such individuals.

The civil officers have also decided to change the inspection booths every 30 minutes. The reason behind it is to nab the drunk drivers who would try to fool the police by escaping by driving through an alternate way where there is no police checking.
