FDA busts hospital selling medicines and MTP kits

The Food and Drug Administration conducted a raid at a nursing home in Vikhroli by the name of Ruby Diagnostic Center and caught a number of substances used for abortion. Further, the FDA found 11 unused and 16 used MTP kits. As a result, the FDA immediately filed a case against this diagnostic centre.

As per Dr Harshdeep Kamble, the FDA Commissioner, he had got some classified information of alleged practices like these going on at the Ruby Diagnostic Center. Hence, on the basis of this information, the FDA team conducted a raid on the night of Wednesday. In their raid, the FDA confiscated medicines from schedule H-1 that were worth Rs. 70,000. Moreover, the hospital does not have any record of the sale or purchase of these medicines. At the same time, the FDA confiscated a number of MTP kits that are generally used for abortion.
