In a meeting with the state COVID-19 task force, reports stated that Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has directed the authorities to curate the guidelines for extending shop timings from October 22. In addition to this, even amusement parks will commence alongside cinema halls and movie theatres in the state. However, in amusement parks, water rides will not be permitted to operate.

Similar to the opening of facilities, a discussion is also claimed to have been undertaken regarding the vaccination of children, with the Chief Minister instructing the Health Department to liaison with the Union Government, to ensure that the stock for vaccines for children is ready.

Considering that the number of patients in the state, as well as in the city has been declining, the government is likely to have undertaken the decision to offer further relaxations. According to accounts, the CM elaborated on how the restrictions are gradually being eased since the number of positive patients is declining. Adding that cinema halls and theatres will also open from October 22. Moreover, with the constant demand for the extension of operation timings for restaurants and shops, instructions have been given to curate guidelines for elongating their timings.

Whilst the second wave is claimed to be declining, authorities are constantly urging citizens to follow COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
