In an effort to increase employment rates and job accessibility, the Maharashtra government is attempting to implement a single-window system for employment prospects throughout the state, including in the private sector.

According to Mangal Prabhat Lodha, minister for skill education, employment, and entrepreneurship, the government will amend the Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act, 1959, requiring private companies to notify the employment exchange bureau of vacancies. Failure to do so will result in a hefty fine.

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has been asked to approve the proposal, which is a component of the government's 100-day action plan.

Lodha stated that if private employers do not register their openings with the employment exchange, they plan to increase the penalties. At the moment, the penalty is INR 100–500, which is insignificant. He also highlighted the need for compliance. According to authorities from the department of skill education, jobs, and entrepreneurship, the government intends to increase the penalty sum to INR 50,000.

An official from the department said that to accommodate local needs, the central government has allowed states to amend the Employment Exchanges (Compulsory Notification of Vacancies) Act, 1959. They will utilise this clause to include private companies in the employment exchange's purview, he said.

The state government will start a platform to link employers and job seekers as part of this initiative. Lodha said that by enabling candidates and companies to register and exchange job opportunities in a seamless manner, the portal will increase transparency in the recruitment process.

According to authorities, the government also wants to regulate job sites and placement firms. A new law will mandate that these entities register with the government and abide by uniform rules, such as paying for employment services.

The Chief Minister's youngsters Action Training Scheme, which intends to train 50,000 youngsters in the state over the course of the next 100 days, will create the centres. Under the plan, which the government has obtained INR 2,300 crore from the World Bank, the directorate of vocational education and training will introduce 500 audio-visual modules of vocational courses. As part of the project, 1,000 schools will also host career guidance camps.

Additionally, "Maharashtra International Centres" are being constructed at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Nashik, and Amravati. The centres will offer resources and training to improve our youth's employability, Lodha stated.

The State Innovation Skill Development Society will also train 110,000 adolescents through the state's Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), which will be modernised as part of the World Bank deal.
