Mumbai Police has banned hot air balloons, gliders, laser lights and other flying objects in Mumbai's flying zone from June 23 to August 21 in view of Mumbai's security. 


The Mumbai Police issued an order saying that the police have received reports that in the areas that fall under the control of the Commissioner of Police, Greater Mumbai, flying balloons, high riser crackers, light emitting objects, in and around the airspace have been observed.

In the free flight area around Juhu Aerodrome, Naval Air Station INS Shikra, laser light beams are flashed along the approach path of the runway, especially towards the landing aircraft, threatening the safe operation of the aircraft in the said area.


Flying of paragliders, sending of balloons, use of high riser crackers, use of light emitting objects, flying of kites and use of laser beam irradiation should be controlled around Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport so that use of paragliders, balloons, high risers, firecrackers, light emitting objects, kites, laser beams do not affect landing, take off and safe flight operations.
