The Mumbai Fire Brigade managed to rescue four people who told that one of their colleagues was still trapped under the debris. The officials informed that the fire brigade personnel are using heavy machinery to remove the debris.

Thackeray visited the site to take stock of the situation and review the rescue operations being carried out. He was accompanied by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal. Earlier, Maharashtra Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad also visited the site.

A ground plus five-storey building named 'Bhanushali' fell amid a heavy downpour near Lucky House in south Mumbai’s Fort area. As this happened, the personnel from disaster management and fire brigade rushed to the spot and started the rescue operation.

At present 14 vehicles of the fire brigade have reached the spot. The NDRF has also reached the spot. Upon receiving information about the collapse of the residential structure, four fire engines were rushed to the spot.

The BMC officials informed that building was vacated earlier for repair works but some of the families decided to stay. It is estimated that there were 20 people in the building at the time of the accident. However, the officials said that most of the residents were able to get out.
