Amidst the monsoons in Mumbai, the potholes have posed to be a problem in the city. Even though these pits are small in size, they have increasingly become dangerous.

These potholes have formed across the city, on highways and small roads, as the city experiences continuous rainfall, due to which rainwater gets stored in the potholes.

As per reports, there are potholes on the MIDC Road No. 11 in Andheri East, Mumbai. Moreover, the problematic part is there are seven pits in one place. Therefore, these pits have been named as Tulsi, Vihar, Tansa, Modaksagar, Bhatsa, Middle Vaitarna and Upper Vaitarna after the lakes.

On the other hand, it has also been pointed out that the lakes supplying water to Mumbai are 96 per cent full. In the last 24 hours, Upper Vaitarna received 7.00mm rainfall, Modak Sagar received 0.00mm rainfall, Tansa received 5.00mm rainfall, Middle Vaitarna received 0.00mm rainfall, Bhatsa received 5.00mm rainfall, Vihar received 4.00mm rainfall and Tulsi 5.00mm rainfall.

The BMC further speaking about the potholes has informed that the pits will be filled soon. Meanwhile, many complaints have been lodged with the civic body regarding these pits. However, it is understood that the Municipal Corporation is ignoring this. This is causing inconvenience to the citizens as they have to travel with the risk of their lives.

The complaints of the potholes have been an ongoing issue. The BMC had earlier created a new road on the stretch of Sion-Dharavi Link Road that had inconvenienced motorists and commuters due to the pothole-ridden roads.
