Heavy rains have lashed many parts of Maharashtra since Sunday night, July 11. Moreover, the intensity of the rains will continue for the next few days, according to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). 

Besides, with the onset of monsoons across Maharashtra, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Mumbai, Palghar, Thane and Raigad from Monday, July 12 to July 15.

Moreover, the meteorological department has also issued a warning for the next three hours in seven districts including Mumbai, Thane and Palghar. The IMD department has forecast moderate to heavy rains in those districts.

The meteorological department has warned of heavy rains in Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Aurangabad districts in the next three hours.

Heavy rains were witnessed in most parts of Konkan across Maharashtra. Some places received 250 to 350 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. Besides, heavy rains were recorded in Ratnagiri along with Mumbai till Monday evening, July 12. Mahabaleshwar in central Maharashtra has also received torrential rains.

Parbhani in Marathwada received the highest rainfall of 232 mm in the last 24 hours. As a result, life in the area has been disrupted and crops on 5,000 hectares have been affected. The meteorological department has forecast moderate to heavy rains in seven districts of the state in the next three hours.

Rainfall forecast for the next two days:

July 14: Heavy rain forecast for Mumbai, Palghar, Thane, Kolhapur, Satara, Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg. Parbhani, Hingoli, Nanded Light to moderate rainfall.

July 15: Heavy rains forecast in Mumbai, Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Satara, Kolhapur, Pune and other districts.
