As schools have started since June 15, RTO is keeping a close eye on illegal vehicles transporting school students in Navi Mumbai and action has been taken against 11 vehicles so far. 

Action was taken against 25 vehicles in June last year. RTO has informed that the number of illegal vehicles transporting school students has decreased this year. The school administration has become more aware and vehicles are being allowed only after verification at the school level.

As the schools were completely closed during the Corona period, school buses and vehicles were also closed. Last year, the vehicles for transporting school students were started, but at that time most of the vehicles were carrying more students than their capacity without licence, registration, flouting the rules. Therefore, action was taken against 25 vehicles driving such vehicles illegally.


All licensed transporters transporting school students must comply with the provisions of school bus rules, not to transport school students without a licence, not to transport more students than capacity, vehicle licence, registration certificate, insurance certificate, competency certificate, driver's vehicle licence batch were checked by RTO. So far action has been taken against 11 illegal school vehicles transporting students and a penalty of INR 42,000 has been collected
