COVID-19: Now Book Your Vaccination Slots On WhatsApp

From finding your closest vaccination centre to booking your slot, you can do it all on WhatsApp. The app’s operators in India can make use of the government’s MyGov Corona Helpdesk chatbox to reserve a vaccination slot by sending a simple WhatsApp message saying, “Book Slot” on the number +91 9013151515.

Although this service was launched on WhatsApp in March 2020 to assist with COVID-19 related doubts and to stop disinformation against coronavirus, several additions to its features have been made since. For instance, using the same facility users are also able to download their vaccination certificates.

In addition to citizens being able to book their vaccination slots on the CoWIN website, they can now also do so on WhatsApp.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to book your vaccination slot on WhatsApp:

• Save the number +91 9013151515 on your phones
• Open WhatsApp and send a message saying, “Book Slot”, on this number. A six-digit OTP will be produced and sent on the mobile phone. Send this OTP to the WhatsApp chat
• On entering the OTP, names of people who registered under this number on the CoWIN website will be shown
• Then, type the number of people for whom you wish to book the slot. Earlier vaccination history will then be shown
• Post this, click on “Search by Pincode”, after which you will be asked if you want the paid or free vaccination
• Enter the area pin code and vaccine type according to which you can select the date, location
• In the end, you will receive a confirmation
