Minister of State (MoS) for Labour and Employment Santosh Gangwar announced a reward worth ₹1 lakh to a hospital employee who saved almost 10 people in Andheri’s ESIC Kamgar Hospital Fire.

The Labour Ministry will honour Siddharameshwar Siddharam Hamnabade who saved 10 lives in the fire incident which killed 11 people on December 17, 2018. 

Siddharameshwar will be honoured with a letter of appreciation from the government and will be provided with the monetary prize decided by the labour ministry. Gangwar said that Siddharameshwar has set an example for the whole ESIC Kamgar Hospital’s staff.

In the incident, 177 lives were saved while 116 people were injured and they are being treated at different hospitals across Mumbai. The injured persons included a few children and firefighters.
