According to the latest reports, on Wednesday, April 6, Maharashtra Chief Minister, Uddhav Thackeray took stock of the pre-monsoon works. Thackeray reportedly conducted a meeting with representatives of a range of agencies that include the likes of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai MetroMMRDA and MHADA. 

Based on accounts, Thackeray instructed all of them to complete their work on debris and silt removal by May 31 in order to ensure that waterlogging does not transpire during Mumbai rains

It has been reported that a presentation was given by the BMC administrator Iqbal Singh Chahal in regards to the works being done by the agencies and their latest progress. Following this, Thackeray told the MMRDA and the BMC to clear 450 sites of debris by May 31.

On the other hand, he asked the Railways to clean the drains that fall within its jurisdiction and told the MMRDA to finish the ongoing Metro construction at Kandivali prior to the commencement of monsoon, cited narratives. 

Additionally, the CM directed the contractors to undertake schemes to avert waterlogging in areas where public work construction activities are underway including the likes of the Mumbai Metro. He was quoted in accounts elaborating on how the developers must be told to undertake precautionary measures to prevent accidents owing to the cranes put up on tall buildings if there is a storm or heavy rains.
